We are excited to officially announce some major course upgrades for the 12th Annual Asheville Marathon & Half! Thanks to our partnership with the city of Asheville, we have added significant enhancements for 2024 that are sure to create a memorable race experience.
To start, we have added a new section to the course that travels through some of Asheville’s most iconic and historic neighborhoods. This eliminates the off-road sections and repetitive out and backs of the previous course. From there, runners will descend into the River Arts District where we have added the newly-opened section of the French Broad River Greenway West. To top things off, we have a brand new finish experience at the RiverLink Karen Cragnolin Greenway Park along the banks of the French Broad River. As if this wasn’t enough exciting news, both courses still have a net elevation loss!
In addition to the course enhancements, we’re adding more live music and entertainment on the course, additional water stations, and an epic post-race party hosted by Wrong Way Cabins. With all these changes, The 12th Annual Asheville Marathon & Half is primed to be the best one yet!
Post-race shuttles to both Pack Square Park and the DoubleTree Hotel (Biltmore Village) are free for all race participants.
The Asheville Marathon & Half Marathon are both point to point races starting in downtown Asheville, running through the iconic Montford neighborhood and then down to the River Arts District. The race is run on roads, greenways and through parks with the new amplified finish party experience at the RiverLink Karen Cragnolin Park.
