BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival is the largest ice dragon boat race in the world! The event provides a unique experience that combines dragon boating with Canadian winter sports culture. Twelve-person boats are equipped with skate-like blades and competitors propel themselves along the course using spiked ice-picks. On February 9-10, teams from around the world will compete on the Rideau Canal Skateway at Dow's Lake.
The festival is made possible each year due to the time and dedication of hundreds of volunteers. Join us in 2024 and be part of an awesome volunteer team that will help make this year’s festival a success! And there are so many great reasons to volunteer at the festival.

The BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival is the world’s largest ice dragon boat race and takes place on the Rideau Canal Skateway at Dow's Lake on February 9 and 10, 2024.
