Description
Five Run for Rocky events took place annually beginning in April 2013 through April 2017. After a 5-year hiatus, Run for Rocky returned in August 2022 in conjunction with Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Weekend. The fundraising efforts through this event have established a fund that will help support Gay Straight Alliances in local high schools and post-secondary schools in the years to come. This financial support includes GSA grants, GSA scholarships, funding students and educators to go to GSA educational conferences, the purchase of educational resources that help support parents and educators, and diversity training for educators. This funding model to support GSAs financially is unique in Canada.
The Run for Rocky Legacy Project continues to collect donations and allocates 100% of these funds strictly to the funding model.
