My Story…
In Aug 2023 I hit the big 5-0, as my kids would say, became an old man!! So what is the best way to continue to show that age is only a number? Why not just run the 60km Calgary Ultra Marathon?
60k, really, do you need your head looked at (actually I do) so that is exactly what I am going to do!
As I tackle this significant challenge, I would like to do so supporting a cause and an organization that means a lot to us, the Epilepsy Association of Calgary. Epilepsy is a condition that can strike at any age, for no apparent reason and can affect not only someone's physical but also their mental health. The Association provide programs, services, and support to people living with, or impacted by, epilepsy in Calgary and Southern Alberta. Hard to believe that 1 in 100 Albertans are diagnosed with Epilepsy, including over 7,000 under the age of 18 in Southern Alberta.
So if I can put my body on the line to support this cause, then all I ask in return is that you spare a few bucks, it would certainly be appreciated.
So in reality, turning 50 wasn’t really a big deal, and even tackling a 60k marathon isn't, its supporting organizations that can make a difference. So if you can support, we thank you, its truly appreciated.
