I Run to Cure CF!
This will now be my 12th year running the Pittsburgh Marathon for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Once we found out about Natalie's diagnosis in 2012, I immediately looked for ways to fundraise and help the foundation in the fight to find a cure. One of those ways was running for Team CF. I had never run a marathon, half marathon, or even participated in any 5k's at that time, but I went for it and haven't stopped since.
Every year becomes harder to find time to train and fundraise, but we are so close to finding a cure that we can't stop now. Every amount helps and the foundation does incredible work with the donations. New drugs have been developed in the past few years that are making huge strides in CF patients and we really believe that a cure is right around the corner now.
Thank you to all the past, present, and future donors! We really appreciate the support and generosity!
Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today. Please make a difference and support me by donating to my fundraising campaign today!
