I Run to Cure CF!
THIS IS THE YEAR THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
I am so happy to share the AMAZING news--CHRIS is joining the rest of Chris's Fighters to run the Pittsburgh Marathon relay.
In 2013 and 2014, Chris ran the Pittsburgh half marathon (in under 2 hours, if I may add). In 2015, Chris really started to feel the side effects of CF, so he was unable to run. But, I knew in my heart that if anyone could do it, it would be him, and he would be back to run.
So, in 2015, Chris's Fighters started running the relay to hold Chris's place. & we kept running every year after that...
In August of 2020, he had a double lung transplant. Life after transplant presented its own challenges for Chris, BUTTT HE'S BACKKK, BABBY!!!
10 years later, Chris will be running the relay along side of us!
We have always raised to support the CF Foundation, but this year it means even more to me. Chris is PROOF that your donations SAVE lives. If you want to see "more Chris's", please donate. Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today.
