Carolina Children's Charity

Since 1987, Carolina Children’s Charity (CCC)  has been a unique, local non-profit that has served more than 4,200 Lowcountry children with birth defects and childhood diseases. CCC has provided more than $4.7 million dollars in assistance with life-saving and life-enhancing services. CCC provides access to items or services that are deemed medically beneficial and/or medically necessary. CCC has awarded funding to cover the costs of medications, specialized equipment and supplies, therapies, medical evaluations, lodging for out of town medical care and so much more. All grant recipients must be age 18 and under and reside in Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton or Dorchester county. The hard work of the Charity has made a difference in the lives of local children with special healthcare needs one grant at a time. With no state, federal or national support, we rely solely on the support of our wonderful community, sponsors, businesses, organizations and firefighters. CCC is there for children and their families when gaps are left by private insurance or subsidized programs, a child is not covered by any program, the family has no medical insurance, or no one else can help. Our priority and focus is to raise enough money so that we can be the answer to children with birth defects and childhood diseases in our community. Through our grants, the Charity provides families with what they need on a daily basis to ensure that their child or children can reach optimal health and development. CCC is about local people helping local children. Our unique Charity helps reduce the financial burden to families when their child has medical needs that they can’t meet without our support. Carolina Children’s Charity pays all providers directly. We are proud of our presence in the community and thankful we can continue to be a resource for so many children. For the past 36 years, we have been blessed by the generosity of others and the continued support that makes our mission possible.
