My Story…
Hi everyone! For my third marathon, I’m raising money for Ovarian Cancer Canada.
Eighteen years ago, when my mom Sharlene was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer, I started running to cope. Mom was brave and strong, and she passed away April 28, 2010. Ovarian cancer also robbed my daughter of her other grandmother -Lois - Jeff’s mom - 23 years ago at the age of 59.
This past year one of my dearest friends Eva - a beautiful friend, mother and artist - was diagnosed. Although I have seen advancements, we still need earlier diagnosis, better treatments, and holistic support for women living with ovarian cancer.
Ovarian Cancer Canada is doing great work in these areas. I encourage you to check out their website and learn about the vague symptoms and talk to your doctor about diagnostic tests if you are worried.

I am dedicating my run to my mom Sharlene, Jeff’s mom Lois, my friend Eva (Ebes), and Maritiia’s mom Lois (another amazing woman who is facing down this disease).
Thank you for contributing towards dismantling this disease - one step at a time!❤️
