My Story…
After promising to never run a half marathon again, Ellie and Jamie, two self-proclaimed "athletes", have officially signed up for the 2024 BMO Half-Marathon. This year, we have decided to associate our run with a charity and will be raising funds for BC Cancer. Why are we doing this? Well, gather around for a story that aims to shamelessly guilt you into donating money to our cause.
Ellie's amazing cousin, Catie, someone we both look up to, was recently met with a stage 4 metastatic melanoma diagnosis in the brain and spine. This cancer is inoperable, malicious and very rare.
In an attempt to feel like we can help in some way, we decided to run this half-marathon for a cause that's close to our hearts: BC Cancer Foundation. Every donation we receive goes straight to supporting cancer research and care.
Why should you donate? Well, besides the family cancer card we just pulled on you, consider the fact that we also need all the motivation we can as extremely unprepared "athletes," determined to make a difference.
