Help Shawn raise money

For participating in 2024 BMO Vancouver Marathon

My Story…

Everyone has a “why” for mental health.  Some of these “why’s” are closer than others.  I, too, have a “why” but for today, my “why” is for you.

My goal is simple in theory; challenging in reality.  I want to run this marathon with the masses, not to set a PR (also known as a Personal Record), but to listen to others talk about their journey towards a better mental health and to hear what good mental health means to them.

For this reason, I am raising money for Canadian Mental Health Vancouver-Fraser, alongside many others who are also raising money for CMHA-VF.  Our collective goal?  $20,000.   My goal? As much as I can possibly raise, for I believe in the cause and I believe in the Association.

Please help me in this journey.  We should all have a voice and we should all be listening to the “why’s.”

Thank you for your donation...also, Kevin's page is $2,000 and I want to beat him...let's aim for $3,000. 😘

-Shawn McNaughton, Past Board Chair of CMHA-VF.

Description

One of our goals is to support youth mental health early, to give them tools to support their life and most importantly, let them know they aren’t alone in their fight. Whether this was your story as a teen or now, or you saw a family member struggle with mental health and weren’t sure what to do, running for CMHA-VF is a commitment to making the Vancouver Fraser community better.

You are pounding the pavement anyway, and doing it as a mental health ally with a great song pushing you forward will have more impact than you can imagine. You can be the match that lights a child up and lets them know they have a lot of fight left in them.
