February 10, 2023
Begin your adventure now!
"The Rip" is a thrilling 3.5km swim across the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, the gateway to Melbourne, Australia. Steeped in history, it is one of the most notorious and thrilling waterways in the world. You can swim it safely with us.
Ultimate team swim
Team option (4-6 swimmers)
You will swim across together, accompanied by a kayaker and safety boats. It is very important that your team can stick to together so pick swimmers of the same speed.
Solo option
If you cannot gather a team or prefer to swim solo, you now can, but places will be limited so you will need to get in fast.
Team race option
Enter as a team of 4 with at least 1 female swimmer and you can take part in a race against other teams!
Wetsuits are optional
The water temperature is likely to be about 17 degrees Celsius and you will need to be well-acclimatised to the cold if you choose to swim without a wetsuit. However, you are welcome to wear a wetsuit. Wetsuit swims are denoted with a small Asterix on the honour board.
Distance & time
Distance: 3.5km (as the crow flies!)
