My Story…
Hand Cycle Crushers was started by Doctors Kurt Weiss and Mike Becich. Kurt is a cancer survivor/surgeon/scientist and lost most of his right leg to cancer. Mike is the Chair of the Pitt Department of Biomedical Informatics and lost part of his leg recently. Kurt fights cancer with surgery and science, and Mike fights it with "big data" and technology. Both are long-time Hillman Cancer Center investigators. They are using hand cycles for the race, but any cycler is welcome to join our team. Come and help us to show that even with one leg, we can still kick cancer's ass!
