Our story…
Welcome to our page! Hand Cycle Crushers was started by Drs. Kurt Weiss and Mike Becich. Kurt is a cancer survivor/surgeon/scientist at UPMC and lost most of his right leg to cancer. Mike is the Chair of the Pitt Department of Biomedical Informatics and recently lost part of his leg. Kurt fights cancer with surgery and research, and Mike fights it with "big data" and computing technology. Join our team and help us show that even with one leg, we can still kick cancer's ass!
