The 519 is committed to the health, happiness and full participation of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Through The 519’s innovative model of service, space and leadership, we strive to make a real difference in people’s lives, while working to promote inclusion, understanding and respect.
Founded in 1975, The 519 is Canada’s leading 2SLGBTQ+ service provider and community centre. We work with 2SLGBTQ+ communities to create meaningful opportunities where people can be their authentic selves, care for each other and build a better future.
Our programs and services are as diverse as the communities we serve. The 519 provides direct services and programming to over 100,000 visitors a year, and supports over 100 community-led groups, organizations, and programs that see an additional 420,000 annual visitors. The programming we offer is free of cost and is often supported by our 1200+ volunteers. From our EarlyON program for families with little ones, to our older 2SLGBTQ+ adult focused work, we are committed to being responsive and nimble to meet the evolving needs of community members, prioritizing the most marginalized of our neighbours.
