Help Betty raise money

Time flies.  Before we know it October 19th will be here and I will be at the Waterfront to once again Walk the Walk for Social Justice.  Our team walks 5km as our major fundraiser  Our goal is $30,000.  These funds will help us identify needs and provide social justice programs in our community across the entire year. 

I am co-leader of our Out of the Cold program, one of the twelve programs under the social justice umbrella.  For over thirty years we have partnered  with volunteers at All Saints Anglican.   This past winter 44 volunteers from Islington United provided a delicious meal on January 12th, February 16th and March 22nd.  A total of 174 men and women came in out of the cold to enjoy  salad, beef or vegetarian stew over mashed potatoes and cake and ice cream.  The guests have a number of options...pick up clothing, have a shower, get laundry done, enjoy music, watch a movie or just enjoy the warmth and friendly surroundings.

Hunger isn't seasonal!!

On Wednesdays from June 12th to Auguest 14th  All Saints Anglican organized a Lunch Program and provided a sit-down or take-away lunch bag and opportunity to have a shower, get laundry done or visit with a nurse or pastoral care volunteer,

On July 17th Islington United delivered  72 lunch bags packed with a delicious croissant sandwich-ham, turkey and cheese, a granola bar and orange,  There were none left for same day delivery to a shelter!!
