My Story…
On October, 19, I walked 5 km in High Park with other Real Humanitarian (formerly Canadian Humanitarian) supporters to raise funds to send more children, both girls and boys, to school in Ethiopia. This is the best way I know to tackle poverty in a successful and lasting way. My goal is to raise $3,000 to help kids in Ethiopia. Please sponsor me! You will receive a tax receipt for all donations of $20 or more from Canadian Humanitarian by the end of the year. If you wish to donate but not on-line, please let me know and I will tell you how.
Real Humanitarian is a small but experienced organization that supports Ethiopian projects that enable kids to go to school from kindergarten to college or university. As well, kids and their caregivers (mostly grandmothers as most kids in need are orphans) are provided with healthy meals and medical care by Canadian volunteers, and the children get tutorial help to ensure they succeed. Real Humanitarian has very little overhead so nearly all of your donation goes directly to the kids, unlike most other charities.
In 2010, Eilonwy, Christina, Girum and I volunteered for RH in Ethiopia. What RH is doing really works!
