My Story…
Our daughter, Lydia, was born at 29 weeks, weighing only 2lbs 6oz. During her first 68 days in the hospital, her devoted medical team helped her conquer numerous challenges, including breathing, eating, and temperature regulation, before she finally came home.
Having a premature baby is incredibly overwhelming and parents are often left having to navigate the NICU alone. We were so fortunate to have been referred to the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation by a fellow preemie parent and board member.
The Canadian Premature Babies Foundation is a parent-led charitable organization that provides education, support, and advocacy for premature babies and their families.
During Lydia’s stay, Spencer and I were able to access information and support that helped us feel comfortable and confident caring for our baby in the NICU. The Canadian Premature Babies Foundation's Facebook community provided a platform for us to connect with others who understood our journey. We drew strength from reading the stories of other preterm babies, finding hope and inspiration for Lydia's future.
By supporting the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation, we can give back and help them continue their remarkable work supporting preemies and their families, just as they did for us during our time of need.
