My Story…
This year I had my first foster cat, Amber. Annex Cat Rescue was able to vet her and help her find an amazing, loving forever home. I'm grateful for all that ACR does for the street cats of Toronto and I'm walking 5k to raise money to support them, so that I can foster another street cat.
Annex Cat Rescue is dedicated to reducing the suffering of Toronto's street cats, eliminating cat homelessness, and creating the safe & loving indoor second chances that formerly homeless street cats deserve.
We care for cats and kittens in a variety of ways, such us:
- daily feeding and monitoring of cats in managed feral cat colonies
- spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and providing medical & dental care to both colony cats being returned to their outdoor homes and cats going into our foster program for an indoor second chance
- socializing, fostering, and adopting out formerly homeless street cats & kittens
ACR remains 100% volunteer-run, and nearly 90% of our donations go directly to medical care for our rescued cats, in partnership with generous veterinarians who provide donated and discounted care.
Annex Cat Rescue receives no city or government funding, and relies exclusively on donations. Our adoption fees only cover a small fraction of the medical expenses for our cats, so we depend on fundraisers like this to continue helping as many street cats as possible. Our work supporting homeless cats in our community cannot happen without our hundreds of dedicated volunteers, and financial donations from those who support our work.
