Our story…
Students at York University, like many across Ontario, face the daunting challenge of food insecurity, a prevalent issue in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). According to a recent Campus Well-Being Survey, one in four students at York struggles to afford adequate nutrition. There is a pressing need for additional funding to sustain and expand food insecurity support services. Please join the York University Retirees’ Association (YURA) in combating food insecurity at York. Adequate access to food and proper nutrition is key to student success. This year, YURA will be raising funds to help address student food insecurity at the University. Funds raised will support the YFS Food Support Centre, the Glendon Food Bank, and other initiatives such as the open fridge program and grocery gift cards.
