My Story…
I am so excited to be getting back to running after quite the hiatus and even more excited to be doing it with Save the Boundary Waters!
Growing up, running was a regular part of my life. Running XC in high school shaped me into the person I am today. But as health challenges persisted in college, I stopped running and thought I would never return to it. And I missed it.
During that time, I grew my passion for the outdoors including 3 trips to the BWCA. Even when I wasn't running--feeling the strength and post-run high that comes with the sport--I was able to recognize a new kind of strength that came from paddling. I developed a greater sense of appreciation and love for myself and what my body CAN do when portaging. And I was able to lean into the beauty of slowing down and being in community with others on the lake.
Save the Boundary Waters does incredible work in protecting the BWCA--a beautiful place to get in touch with nature, each other, and self. They stand for the Indigenous land that is at constant risk of the danger of pipelines and other natural resource exploitation. Save the Boundary Waters also provides grants to support organizations that work to get historically underrepresented folks into adventure programs!
I could not be more excited to be running the TC 10 mile in support of Save the Boundary Waters, and I would love your support in doing so. Every contribution makes a difference to supporting the mission of Save the Boundary Waters and impacting the lives of thousands.
Thank you for your support!
