Help Jenna raise money

In 5 short weeks, on Sunday, October 6th, I will be participating in the Medtronic Twin Cities 10 mile Run in honor of my niece, Tove Ann Kjeseth. I am equal parts excited and nervous to take on a running endeavor of this length. Guiding me will be the memory of Tove's beautiful, smiling face. She will fill me with purpose, energy, and endurance for this race.

On a regular Wednesday afternoon at work, I received a phone call from Kevin saying that something was wrong with our niece, Tove, and that it sounded bad. With his voice shaking, he told me that she was being brought to the hospital. I responded with my “nursing hat” on, that we didn’t have enough information to freak out, so let’s just calm down and wait until we find out more. Shortly after this, we couldn’t believe what we heard. Tove was gone. She had been taking her afternoon nap at daycare, when her sitter went in to get her up with her brother, and she wasn’t responsive. She performed CPR and 911 was called. They attempted to resuscitate her. She was brought to the hospital where her parents waited to hear what they already feared. How could this be? Just a few days earlier she received flying colors from her pediatrician at her regular 16 month old checkup.

2/2/2022 marks a day of horrific tragedy for our family. Never could we imagine that a perfect, happy, healthy, sparkling little girl could be taken for seemingly no reason at all. Our only comfort is knowing that she fell asleep in peace, and that all she knew in her life was love. Tove's parents, Karla Elmberg and Peder Kjeseth, continue to move forward every day the best they can with their other precious children, Tor Ole and as of 8/19/2024, Bjorn Arne.
