The Great Victorian Swim Series promotes fitness, fun, camaraderie & competition among swimmers and supporters of the Victorian open water swimming community.
The Series runs alongside ocean swim events conducted by our hard-working and critical Surf Life Saving Clubs and the funds raised from the swims go to keeping our beaches safe.
The Series aims to encourage more people to be active and take part in these great community events.
Points are awarded at each event and after the Series winners are found across multiple categories, with a prize giving held to celebrate everybody's success.

Earning Series Points
- Series Points will be allocated for GVSS entrants only
- Points allocated will be a lot lower than in previous years with a focus on encouraging entrants to do more events
- Points will be allocated as follows:
- 1st - 4 points
- 2nd - 3 points
- 3rd - 2 points
- 4th and below - 1 point (everyone outside the top three gets one point including those that DNF and those that entered but did not swim)
- Points will apply to a Short and Long course distance
- There will be no separate wetsuit and non-wetsuit category
- You must do a minimum of five races to qualify
- This year, if you participate in more than five events, your points will be tallied for all events. So it does not necessarily mean the fastest swimmer will be the series winner if they only do the minimum number of races.
- Two swim events will be designated as DOUBLE points!
- Wreck2Reef Open Water Swim
- The second double-points event will be randomly selected at the culmination of the Series.
