I Love Coffee 5k Road Run and Walk

Here are the FYIs for I Love Coffee 5k this Sunday:

-Race is held at Hawthorne Park 500 Ackerman Drive Porter, Indiana 46304

-If you or your friend or family are interested in signing up online sign ups close on Friday, January 26th at 2:00 pm. Race day sign ups begin at 8:15 am CST. Packet pick up will begin at 8:15 am as well. Race day fee will be $50 for runners and $40 for walkers and payable by cash, check or Venmo. There are a limited number of t-shirts available once they are gone there gone. We have plenty of hats for race day sign though.

-Race started at 9:00 am CENTRAL TIME.

-Timing will be old school after you finish you will be handed a popsicle stick with a number on it. Please turn that stick into the volunteer inside the community center ASAP. We will not a formal awards ceremony you will receive a mug if you are overall male/female winner or top three in your age group.

-Weather forecast for Sunday: High 39 Low 32 cloudy

-All runners/walkers will be receiving 5 raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1. The raffle will feature Deathwish Coffee Items check out their website https://www.deathwishcoffee.com We will begin the raffle once all runners and walkers are in. You MUST be present to win.

-The course is on town streets and the pavement bike trail. The course is marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. Link to route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38379737  There is construction going on Beam Street. You run on a little bit of gravel then back on the bike trail. You will perform a loop into a subdivision then return the same route that got you there. Please use caution as the roads are not closed to traffic.

-Snacks, Deathwish coffee, water and Gatorade will be available in the community center after you finish.

- I will have old hats, race shirts and other items available for purchase for $5

The purpose Crazy Legs Race Series (CLRS) is to promote non-pavement/pavement races in the Northwest Indiana region through the development and management of new and existing races. At all our events you will experience fun and challenging course design in a low-key atmosphere. Races will be held in parks or areas in the Lake, Porter and Laporte counties.

The Crazy Legs Race Series welcomes and encourages participation in our events by all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression. Transgender runners may register as the gender they identify with and there is no documentation needed. In the registration process there is not a non-binary (NB) selection. Please register then email stofko121@yahoo.com after registration and we will amend our records.

The Crazy Legs Race Series would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which we host our races is the seized territory of the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations. Refugees from other nations also resided in the area we use, including the Lenape (Delaware). We honor those who have stewarded this land throughout the generations.
