My Story…
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be taking on my first ever triathlon on September 2nd to raise money for the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver. My goal is to raise $2000 for this incredible cause.
I've been part of the Big Brother community for almost 2 years now, and I've witnessed firsthand the amazing impact this organization has on kids who need a positive male presence in their lives.
I’ve been lucky enough to be paired with Jude, the most polite and kind 12-year-old who has grown in confidence each day. Jude is an avid soccer player, and one of our favourite activities is going to the local soccer field to work on our skills together. Recently I've been teaching Jude how to golf and just last month he made his first ever par! Seeing Jude grow in confidence, become more outgoing, and come out of his shell has been incredibly rewarding. His mom, Kristin, often shares how much the program has positively impacted Jude’s life.
Participating in the triathlon is a new challenge for me, particularly the open water swim portion of the race. It’s an opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone while staying fit. My personal goal for the triathlon is to finish the race in under 1 hour and 30 minutes.
I am currently training 3-4 times a week, focusing heavily on becoming comfortable in the water for the swim.
I’d appreciate any donations you can spare and thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Every contribution helps make a difference in the lives of kids like Jude.
