My Story…
I'm raising funds for the BC Cancer Foundation as part of my goal to run my first ever half marathon on October 13 in Victoria!
Cancer impacts everyone in some way. It has personally impacted several people that I love. I have seen the difficulty a cancer diagnosis brings, and the support that the BC Cancer Foundation provides.
Ongoing cancer research means treatments have come a long way in recent decades and we hope that continued research will further the progress. One exciting goal of the Foundation is a new BC Cancer Centre in Nanaimo – something closer to home. You can support research and projects by donating today!
I have been working hard to consistently train for the race since late May, even dealing with a frustrating knee injury about mid-way through my training - which has greatly improved though thanks to physio every day!
My goal is to raise $20.00 for every kilometer of the race. A half marathon is about 21.1 km so that’s $422.00. I promise if you donate to my cause I will run as fast* as I can on race day! I thank you in advance for your generosity, and any amount helps.
