Kettering University's Atwood Stadium Races features a 10K, 5K and the popular Duo Challenge (10K & 5K). Both races start and finish at the historical Kettering University Atwood Stadium located right near Downtown Flint.
This year we are excited to offer a new ruck race option in conjunction with Genesee County Veterans Services. Participate in the the 5k, 10k or Duo Challenge carrying a rucksack with at least 10 lbs of non perishable goods to be donated to local veterans. Genesee County Veterans Services will be providing rucksacks for the first 50 participants. After that participants must provide their own pack/rucksack. Ruck participants will receive a medal and a commemorative coin. There will be an overall winner in the 5k Ruck and the 10K Ruck, but no age group awards for this division.

Race Day Information
Packet Pick Up
- Early packet pick up will be on Friday, July 19th at the Kettering Mobility Lab (304 N Chevrolet Ave, Flint 48504)
Start Location
- Both the 5K and 10K races will start on University Avenue, adjacent to Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium, or in a new location agreed upon by both parties.
- Start lines may be at different locations in order to allow for the same finish line.
- The Start lines will be set to accommodate the lineup of 900+ participants while minimizing the amount of time that vehicular traffic will be closed for racers.
Finish Location
- Both the 5K and 10K races will finish on the field at Kettering University’s Atwood Stadium, located at 701 University Avenue, Flint, MI
- The 5K and 10K races will share the same finish line.
Course Description
- The 5K and 10K courses will follow a mix of paved roads, non-motorized paved trails, and possibly paved automobile testing track, all within the city of Flint.
- Kettering University and the Crim will work together to determine any changes to be made to existing courses.
