Description
For more than 18 years, the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League (LHJWL) has been a volunteer-driven organization focused on enhancing Lake Highlands. Our mission is to instill a sense of community through beautification and improvement projects that foster connections between neighbors. With the support of our gracious donors and local small business partners, we have raised over $1,000,000 to benefit the Lake Highlands area. Our past projects have included upgrading the Lake Highlands splash pad, renovating the children's area of the Audelia Road Public Library, installing an indoor play area for toddlers and young children, and, most recently, expanding Flag Pole Hill Park to include a wheelchair accessible swing (the first of its kind in Dallas!).
This year, the funds raised from Run the Highlands will be used to add a gateway sign and landscape enhancements that will welcome visitors to the Lake Highlands community. The project will both beautify the border of our community and set Lake Highlands apart as a distinct and unique neighborhood of Dallas.
