We are a Dartmouth-based charity dedicated to providing second-stage safe housing, support services, and counselling for women and children fleeing intimate partner violence. We have led a heart-strong and grassroots operation since 1983 and are proud to be celebrating our 41st year of community service.
We offer 18 confidentially located units with enhanced security measures, supporting approximately 65+ survivors yearly in our Safe Housing Program alone. Our holistic approach to recovery includes counselling, food security, economic independence programs, prevention education, and domestic violence court support. Over the past four decades, we have supported over 2,000 women and children as they rebuild their lives and regain independence.
