26.TRUE is an unsanctioned marathon (26.2 miles) specifically designed to amplify and celebrate the culture and diversity of the neighborhoods that make up the City of Boston. 26.TRUE is a tour of Boston - the real Boston - that highlights neighborhoods throughout the city and celebrates communities that are often overlooked during the Boston marathon weekend. We come together in defiance of history’s divisions to embrace old spaces in new ways and to run a marathon that is more than just a race.
In 2024 the journey continues as we host our 4th annual 26.TRUE Marathon. We're excited to be bringing back the energy, vibes, and purpose behind this unique marathon experience. We invite runners and volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, races, and paces to participate in our one-of-a-kind marathon created to redefine what running in Boston can look and feel like.
Runner Registration for 26.TRUE 2024 is $100 (as of 12/1/23) and includes:
- Entry to the marathon with a one-of-a-kind route through the City of Boston
- A 20-week training plan designed by our friends from Forward Spine and Sport that starts on November 27th (Beginner, Beginner +, and Intermediate levels)
- A 26.TRUE Souvenir Bib
- A 26.TRUE Marathon finisher's medal
- A 26.TRUE 2023 Marathon Finisher T-shirt
- A Meal Ticket for food truck
Volunteer Registration for 26.TRUE 2024 is FREE and includes:
- A 26.TRUE 2023 Volunteer Shirt
- A Meal Ticket for food truck
- Snacks and Refreshments Throughout the Event
(Volunteer registration will open on January 8, 2024)
***26.TRUE Marathon is an unsanctioned route without road closures and although we will have course marshals, cheer zones, and hydration stations along the course, runners will be required to run at their own risk***

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 26.TRUE Marathon! At this time we have reached capacity for event participants. However, we are accepting waitlist entries. If more space becomes available we will be reaching out to members of the waitlist in the order that waitlist entries have been received. NOTE: that we cannot guarantee that space will become available. We will reach out by February 1st, 2024 if space becomes available.
