My Story…
Hello everyone! On November 24, I will be running the Philadelphia Marathon as part of The American Association for Cancer Research’s team, Runners for Research. Like many others, cancer has heavily impacted me. My uncle Kenny passed away from esophageal cancer in 2021, my grandfather Dad Dad from osteosarcoma in 2020, my grandmother Bob Bob from oral cancer in 2014, and my grandfather Mick from lung cancer in 2012. Watching them and others battle this terrible disease showed me not only the brutality and gravity of cancer but also the dire need to advance research so as to more effectively prevent, treat, and ultimately cure it.
That being said, my goal leading up to this marathon is to raise $5,000 to support the AACR’s mission of combating cancer through research, education, collaboration, science policy, and advocacy- a mission that hits close to home for many of us. I kindly ask that, if you have the means, you consider donating to my page to help me reach this goal. Each dollar raised goes directly to the AACR.
Thank you so much for your support!
Caitlyn
