My Story…
This November, I will be running in Philadelphia’s Marathon Weekend with my incredible colleagues from Raines International, Engy Lamour and Luke Lacey.
The American Association for Cancer Research and the Runners for Research team welcomed me into their community with open arms in November of 2021 when I first decided to participate in Marathon Weekend. I thank them whole-heartedly for the support and kindness they’ve shown to me throughout a challenging past year and for the opportunities they’ve extended in allowing me to be involved in various Runners for Research initiatives in our community.
10 months ago on December 26, 2023, my Dad Stephen passed away from Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer that he battled for 2 years and 4 months. Dad was a Chicago native and lifelong Bears fan, and his hero, Walter Payton, lost his life to the same cancer in 1999.
‘Sweetness’ once said, “running alone is the toughest.” My team and thousands of other Philadelphians will run together in 3 weeks For the Fight. Please consider supporting the Raines Team and our fundraising efforts, with the goal in mind of making the Philadelphia Marathon the largest run dedicated to cancer research in the U.S.
