My Story…
This year I will be running the Philadelphia Marathon, raising money for the American Association for Cancer Research. The AACR's mission is to prevent and cure cancer through research, education, and science policy & advocacy. Cancer has touched so many of our lives in one way or another—whether we’re survivors, know someone who is a survivor, or have lost a loved one to this devastating disease. It’s a shared struggle that connects us all.
I am running in memory of two people in my life who recently lost their battles to cancer. First, Konner Robison, my college friend & classmate, fought courageously against an aggressive osteosarcoma that took his life just one year ago. He was one of the hardest working people I knew, a bright light who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. I will also be running in memory of Joanne Cupaiuolo, my sister in-law's mother, who lost her battle to glioblastoma just a few months ago. I only met Joanne a handful of times, but I knew so much about her through my brother & sister-in-law. She was a phenomenal mother and her absence is felt so immensely. May both Konner and Joanne rest in paradise, and may their memories continue to live on.
I’m also dedicating this run to the children of Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a place that holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve had the honor of volunteering there since 2019, and the campers—pediatric cancer patients and their siblings—have shown me what resilience, joy, and love truly look like. They welcomed me with open arms when I was first introduced to camp, and they continue to be a huge inspiration in my life. This run is for them too.
This is also my first marathon! So wish me luck!
