Sharks in San Diego Harbor? Not really, but you may see seals and dolphins as you enter their world. This not-to-be-missed swim is just one of many in the growing Enviro-Sports' Sharkfest™ Series. San Diego offers both comfortable water and air temperatures this time of year making it a perfect swim venue. The 1 mile swim will start at the 5th Avenue Landing behind the San Diego Convention Center and finish at the Tidelands Park beach at the foot of the Coronado Bridge on the Coronado side. The swim has been timed according to the local tidal conditions and will take place during "slack" tide. The event is limited to 300 participants so don't wait too long to register!
PLEASE NOTE: This swim is not for novices. This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. You should be able to swim one mile comfortably in a pool in under 40 minutes.

COURSE CUT-OFF TIME: 50 minutes
INCENTIVES: T-Shirts for all participants. Sharkfest Swim Medals for top three finishers in each age group (wetsuit and non-wetsuit combined). Personalized award plaques will also be mailed to the first place overall male and female swimmers. (wetsuit and non-wetsuit combined).
AGE GROUP BREAKDOWN: Male and Female: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84
ENTRANT LETTER: An entrant letter with all the race day details will be emailed to all registered participants and posted online here 1-2 weeks prior to event day. Please check back for any updates and the full race day itinerary.
PARKING: Paid parking is available in the lot behind the San Diego Convention Center on Convention Center Way. (Take 8th Ave off E. Harbor Drive, Bear Right onto Convention Center Way, there will be parking lots behind the Convention Center on this road and we will have parking attendants to direct you.) Once this lot fills, you will be directed to the multi-level parking garage at the intersection of E. Harbor Drive and Convention Center Way. All parking is very convenient to the race check-in and race start. After your swim, there are regularly scheduled ferries from Coronado Ferry Landing back to the San Diego side. There is NO FERRY SERVICE prior to the race. If you are staying on the CORONADO side of the harbor, you will need to drive or take a cab from Coronado to San Diego to get to check-in and the race start.
CANCELLATIONS: Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Here are the policy Terms & Conditions. You cannot purchase it AFTER you have completed your checkout. If you did not purchase the refund protection and you can no longer participate in this event, you may receive a rollover credit (minus a $20 fee) toward a future event as long as you let us know by September 20, 2024. After that date, a doctor's note is required to receive a credit.
Travel & Accommodations
There is no headquarters hotel, there are several choices in the area both on the San Diego side and the Coronado side.
