Join us for our 11-week 1/2 marathon training program, coached by Sarah Seads of Wild Seads Coaching.
The program includes:
- Detailed 11-week training program for all abilities
- Comprehensive Running Manual, beneficial to all runners for all race distances
- The in-person option includes guest speakers and coaching with Coach Sarah Seads on Thursday nights 5:30-7:00 pm
The resources provided includes:
- Weekly run schedule (3-5 runs/week)
- Mobility exercises
- Strength training exercises
- Nutrition and hydration
- Race planning
Choose from 3 options:
Beginner
This program is designed for individuals who can run/walk 8kms using a 10:1 schedule (run 10 minutes then walk for 1). Your goal is to complete the entire distance without a specific goal time.
Intermediate
This plan is designed for individuals who have completed the half marathon distance or close to it and would like to improve their race time.
You will select a plan based on your realistic goal race time. The workouts are pace-based.
Advanced
The Advanced Training Plan is a higher volume option for those who are looking for even more of a challenge. This plan is designed for individuals who can already complete the half marathon distance at the time of beginning the clinic and currently have a higher base mileage.
Structure/Schedule
Workout days may be switched, but the same structure of alternating workout days & rest days should be adhered to until you are feeling ready to train intuitively.
Recommended Gear:
- Good shoes!!
- Headlamp or light vest with a spotlight
- Rain gear and gloves, as we run in all conditions
- Optional: Fitness watch capable of training heart rate, GPS, or phone app to track your workouts (not required, but helpful!)
Refunds/Cancellations:
We do not offer refunds/cancellations in full or in part for this clinic for any reason. If you cannot make the coached sessions, you will still receive the full training program and all of the resources to help you achieve your goals for the CV 1/2 Marathon and future races.
A little bit about me
I am a Practicing Kinesiologist who graduated from the University of Victoria’s faculty of Education. I hold an Arts degree in Kinesiology, which means I had a chance to play amongst both body and mind while in University. Honing in on psychology and sociology as significant parts of my undergrad education and continuing training is a passion for me. Fast forward to 2019, where my love for the workings of the mind, led me to go back to school for my diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I was trained under the guidance of the Canadian College of Advanced Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and also enjoyed my teachings and experience as a 450 HR Yoga & Meditation Teacher from the School of Blissology between 2018 and 2019.
Prior to opening my new Wild Seads portal in 2023, I worked joyfully and creatively for 20 years as head coach and race director for my previous company Equilibrium Lifestyle Management, in the Comox Valley, and internationally.
In addition to dedicating 23+ years of my life to sport, health and Life Coaching, I am a passionate athlete and I have competed in countless running, cycling, adventure racing challenges and mountain adventures with great success and the gift of traveling around the world through my 20+ year endurance performance career. Some highlights include 2 100 mile finishes, 5 100-125km running races (including 3 top 3 and 1 first place female and second overall finish) and more 5-80km races than I can recall!
It is now time for another round of new adventures in Coaching and Leadership and I am so excited to share all of my new teachings, tools, techniques (and hacks;) with my community for your body and mind to improve your running.
