Our story…
We are running to support a pain-free future for all the kids affected by juvenile arthritis and other rheumatic diseases and especially for our Alyssa ❤️.
Alyssa was diagnosed at the age of 3 and has gone through many medical procedures, taken various oral and injectable medications. Her team of specialists at CHEO have been wonderful in supporting her. She is currently in unmedicated remission and we count our blessings daily!
Alyssa is at the heart of these fundraising efforts. To me she is my daughter and to others she is a sister, grandchild, cousin, niece, friend, teammate, classmate, student. She leaves a positive impact in our lives and this is a perfect opportunity to show her and all the kids with JIA that we care about a pain-free future for them.
I am grateful for Cassie + Friends Charity who is dedicated to supporting kids like Alyssa. They offer education, resources, research and support, which add great value to the care of the kids and families.
