Marble Charter Schools
The mission of the LKL Charity Race is to provide a sustainable and substantial fundraiser for Marble Charter School while providing the most runner—and sponsor-friendly trail run in the region. All proceeds go directly toward instructional supplies for the MCS students and staff.
Marble Charter School (MCS) is a public charter school in the heart of the Crystal River Valley. We are a small, rural entity serving a little over 30 families from Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt, Redstone, and Marble. Our total student population this year is 45 students. We respect each child as a unique individual at the Marble Charter School. This promotes choice, trust, and independence. We help children reach their full potential by creating a supportive learning environment and championing a growth mindset. We encourage the use of observation, questioning, and experimentation as a means of gaining knowledge. Our combination of personalized instruction in core academics with project-based learning allows students to develop their skills in a real-world setting.
