My Story…
I’ve been running the Falmouth road race for several years now, but this year feels the most special to me because of the cause I am supporting.
In 2019 my daughter Hazel was born 11 weeks early weighing 2lbs 5oz. I ran the road race that year, then quickly left the finish line and drove to the NICU so that I could be there for her first bath. It was an amazing memory that left an indelible mark of appreciation. Hazel spent a total of 75 days at Beth Israel NICU and is now happy, thriving and on her way to starting Kindergarten in the fall. This is all in part to the care of the incredible team of Nurses and Doctors at BIDNICU, but also the support provided by Project Sweet Peas.
Project Sweet Peas programs support families through NICU care packages, remembrance memory boxes, hospital events, peer-to-peer support groups, NICU family financial aid, remembrance vigils, and educational materials.
I am forever grateful for them; and I am thrilled to be able to give back, by raising money so they can continue to provide such a high level of care for future families.
Please consider donating any amount to this extraordinary cause.
