Help Rosina raise money

For participating in The 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

Here's my story ...

I am excited to run my first Falmouth Road Race with AAFA, a foundation near and dear to my family.

My 6 year old son, Cameron, was diagnosed with life threatening food allergies at 3 months old. We entered into the scary world of food allergies. What seems to most like something “not that bad”, we were faced with so much unknown and didn’t know what was safe for Cameron.

Thankfully, we had the guidance and knowledge of an amazing allergist, friends who have children with food allergies, family/friends ready to help, and AAFA. Through the foundation’s research, support with food labels, information about cross contamination, and outreach, we were able to reach our “new normal” and not feel so overwhelmed.

Many calls were made and emails sent to companies before we purchased food. We made spread sheets, always carry wipes, call restaurants before we go, always pack our own snacks, have amazing friends and family who check labels so things are “Cameron-safe”, and so much more to make sure Cameron gets what he needs.  It is never ending, but it’s worth it to make sure Cameron gets the same experiences as every other child.

Although he has thankfully outgrown two allergies, he remains allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame

My hope in doing this run is to raise money to support other families who are new to the allergy world and those who have been in it for a while. No family should be faced with this diagnosis alone.

Thank you for your donations!

How many of your family members and friends are affected by food allergies, environmental allergies, or have asthma? Very likely, more and more. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, New England Chapter helps people with such conditions live healthier, safer and more active lives through patient education, public awareness and continuing research. It's been our mission since 1979 -- and it's becoming more important than ever.
