I'm Making My Miles More Meaningful With DetermiNation!
This year I will be running the Falmouth Road Race in honor of my Mom, Rebecca.
When I was 2 years old, my Mom was diagnosed with Brain Cancer which ultimately altered her (and my own) life forever.
However, after being given 18 months to live, she is still here today, 20+ years later.
She has gone through a series brain surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and medical events, which have led to many other life complications. Today, she is left with titanium plates in her skull and pieces of her brain missing.
Despite her major physical obstacles (and the mental ones that go along with it all), she never lets anyone leave her presence without cracking a joke or making them smile in some capacity.
If you know my Mom, you know that she is a one-of-a-kind human. She is always laughing (she says it's life's best medicine), talking about Family Feud, wanting to play UNO, calling someone just "to see how their day is going", or asking to have Scallops for lunch. In addition to these quirks, she is one of the strongest people you will ever meet.
Every day I am grateful that I have been given another day to have my Mom around. Because of her, I am stronger. And this year, I am running to represent the strength she has shown me over all these years.
Keep kicking Cancer's ass, Mom. I love you to the moon and back.

Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join the American Cancer Society's Team DetermiNation's 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race team . Taking part in this iconic and historical road race with DetermiNation gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and impactful services for people going through a cancer diagnosis. I’m also participating to inspire hope for those facing the disease. I hope you’ll consider signing up too or supporting my efforts.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 18.1 million cancer survivors nationwide. 18.1 MILLION. That’s huge. That’s why I’d love your support. Will you join me? And if you can’t would you be so kind as to make a donation?
