Fundraising for IBD Cures!
This year, my friend, AJ and I will be participating in the Falmouth Road Race, running for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart: the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
Crohn’s disease profoundly impacts my family. My Dad (diagnosed at 23), my sister, Shannon, (diagnosed at 13) and I (diagnosed at 17) have each suffered the lows of painful flares and together celebrated the joys of remission. Our collective journey with Crohn's has involved countless hospital visits, numerous surgeries, and many different medications. We hope to support a future where cherishing periods of relief becomes a permanent reality.
Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Camp Oasis, a camp organized by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Camp provides a safe environment where kids can enjoy time free from worries of their illness. It offers a sense of community, fostering connections amidst a mutual understanding of both struggles and triumphs. Witnessing the positive impact Camp has on children living with Crohn's or UC reinforced my commitment to supporting the CCFA's mission to improve the lives of those affected by these diseases.
The CCFA is dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, while improving the quality of life for those affected. The foundation’s work is vital, providing resources, research funding, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease support networks. Your contribution will fund essential research, help advocate for patients, and provide critical support and education.
Every step I take in this race is for myself, my family, friends, and all who battle these diseases daily. Thank you for your support!
