Support. Inspire. Empower.
As many of you may know, I am a crazy person that runs marathons, lol. However, what you may not know is that I run with a purpose! This year is the first year that I will be running with the Herren Project. This is an organization that provides recovery support for those struggling with substance abuse disorder and even goes the extra mile to provide grief support to those who have lost family members and loved ones to addiction. I am working with the Herren Project in memory of my mom who lost her battle with addiction in 2008. I wish my family had the resources of this organization as my brother and I learned how to live without our mom and as my dad tried to navigate the sadness and frustration of losing the mother of his kids despite being divorced. Addiction is a nasty, inexplicable disease and just like any other disease, deserves resources to combat the havoc it wreaks. If you have the means to donate, I would greatly appreciate it and promise that your money is going to a great cause 🫶🏼
