My Story…
I am inspired to run Falmouth on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts to raise awareness of and support for critical issues related to our democracy. These include voter empowerment, protection of voting rights, education of Massachusetts voters, and advocacy on matters with direct impact on MA citizens. As treasurer and board director of LWVMA and a member and former board director of my local League LWV Wellesley, I have been involved in a wide range of League activities including voter registration and education, civics education, naturalization ceremonies, and advocacy. I am running Falmouth in order to further these efforts, and to highlight the impact that LWVMA and its 43 local Leagues, including LWV Falmouth, has in the lives of MA residents. I am fortunate to be able to leverage one of my favorite hobbies, running, to advance such an important cause. Please join me in support of League efforts locally and across the Commonwealth. Description
The League of Women Voters MA (LWVMA) has been a respected and trusted voice for citizen participation in our democracy for over 104 years. With 43 local Leagues throughout the state and with over 3,000 members, LVWMA has been at the forefront of efforts to empower and educate MA voters and effect change on a wide range of issues including election laws and campaign finance, natural resources and the environment, women’s health, children’s issues, state budget and finances, public education, and public safety. We are women and men making a difference in the political future of our communities, state, and country.
LWV Falmouth is 150 members strong and known for providing access to key voter information through events such as Candidates Nights, informing voters, and getting out the vote for all elections, local and national, and engage community members to participate actively in our local government through education advocacy.
