Help Cassandra raise money

June 2, 2023 my world changed forever. My daughter, Autumn, was diagnosed with Bone Marrow Failure/Aplastic Anemia due to Fanconi Anemia. Autumn required high dose chemotherapy and a Bone Marrow Transplant to cure her BMF/Aplastic Anemia. On August 24, 2023 she received her life saving Bone Marrow Transplant thanks to an unrelated donor we are forever grateful for. 

For 9-12 months after a Bone Marrow Transplant, Autumn was/is required to remain in complete isolation including missing 3rd grade. In December 2023, we were given the opportunity to stay at Tommy’s Place in Centerville. This stay was the FIRST time Autumn was inside somewhere other than her house or Dana Farber since August. 

This was in her words one of the best weeks of her life - in such a dark and isolating time we were able to escape reality and spend a week in a dream vacation home. The happiness, smile, relaxation, laughter, and memories made at Tommy’s Place is something we will be forever grateful for. It was just what we needed as a family to take a breathe, forget the reality we were living, and just be together. It gave us strength to jump back into the fight and it gave Autumn and her brother Benny that reminder that life IS good, we ARE lucky, and we can do tough things together. 

If I am able to have an impact on a child like Autumn the way Tommy’s Place had an impact on us this year, I will do everything in my power to do so. I want to give back to the organizations who gave so much to us, and to make sure we’re taking care of the families coming after us.
