Why this is important to me!
My name is Anna Laursen and I recently graduated from UMass Amherst. This summer I will be running my third Falmouth Road Race (2nd for Team DetectTogether) this August. I am ecstatic to be running for DetectTogether again! DetectTogether is an incredible organization whose mission is to help reduce delays in cancer diagnosis to significantly increase survival. This cause is very near and dear to my heart as I have had family members and friends whose cancers were diagnosed in late stages, which lead to less favorable outcomes and more aggressive treatments.
DetectTogether saves lives through early cancer detection!
Please consider donating to help me reach my $1,000 goal and support this incredible nonprofit!
Description
The worst cancer diagnosis is a late one. That's why support for DetecTogether is so crucial. They teach people how to detect cancer early when it’s most treatable and survivable.
40% of the population will face a cancer diagnosis. One of the most important factors in surviving cancer is the stage at which it is first detected. Early detection makes all the difference.
DetecTogether provides a simple, powerful strategy for detecting cancer early. They educate in schools, present to community groups, and reach out to those at high risk, such as firefighters, empowering people to achieve better healthcare overall.
Their life-saving presentations and information are delivered at no cost, thanks to the kindness and generosity of donors.
Consider supporting this cause. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
