Welcome to my 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race Page!
On 8/29/22, my families world was turned upside down when my brother Nick suffered a grand mal seizure. What followed quickly turned into a nightmare for all those who know and love him dearly. They found that Nick had a tumor. After weeks of waiting, MRIs and cat scans, Nick had to undergo a craniotomy at Mass General. His amazing surgeon removed a portion of the tumor and biopsy results determined Nick to have brain cancer.
After weeks of radiation, followed by a year of chemotherapy, Nick has defied all odds. Continuing to be a bright light for all that surround him, offering support and guidance to other cancer patients & living life fully everyday.
In Nicks words, “The first thing that needs to happen is acceptance of what has happened and can’t be changed. God's plan is the best plan always and Fear Not with him by our side. We then face it with Grace, Bravery and Integrity. Cancer does not define anybody, how we react to difficult situations in life is what does define us.
The hidden blessings that are tucked away in a situation like this are meteoric. I am closer with God than I ever could have imagined. The support from the community makes me emotional and has brought me to tears more than once. The opportunity to help others in similar situations, to give them strength and to share knowledge motivates and excites me.”
With my brother as my inspiration, I am honored to run the 2024 Falmouth Road Race as part of team Gray Nation Endurance, raising funds to go directly to the National Brain Tumor Society and their mission to conquer and cure brain tumors—once and for all.
