I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to END ALZ!

Hello family, friends, and colleagues! I am proud to share that I am running the 2024 Asics Falmouth Road Race on Sunday, August 18th to support the Alzheimer's Association!

I have seen the devastating effects of this horrible disease within my own family. My mother was diagnosed with dementia and passed away in 2020.  My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and passed away in 2022.  It is difficult to watch those that you love, slowly slip away from knowing who you are.  It is said that you lose your loved ones twice to this disease. First, when they no longer know who you are and then again when they physically pass away. Grief begins long before they are physically gone from this Earth.

I now run to honor and remember all those affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s.  I am running for the first survivor of this disease. Currently there are more than 6 Million Americans living with Alzheimer's and over 11 Million people providing unpaid care for them. This disease will cost the US over $345 Billion in 2024. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. 1 in 3 seniors die from it, two thirds of those living with Alzheimer's are women, and one in five women over 45 will be diagnosed. These facts, and more, are staggering. Please help me in raising funds to support all those currently living with Alzheimer’s and to advance research for treatments and a cure.

The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we need your help to find them. THANK YOU!
