My Story…
The reason why I am running for CPN is to honor the memory of my cousin Emerson. Emerson died at just 16 months old and was taken far too soon. Despite being only five years old when she died, I have many memories of Emerson. My favorite memory is to remember being at my grandmother’s house, sitting at the breakfast nook eating with her. Emerson was sitting in a highchair and laughing. I also remember the day of Emerson’s funeral. My dad had put together a slideshow of pictures of Emerson to remember her. I cried through every picture and laughed at some, but deep down I knew I would miss growing up with her. I am now 8 years older and able to run the Falmouth Road Race alongside my mother, my aunt, and my uncle to raise money and awareness for CPN as they helped my family so much through losing Emerson. CPN also helps my mother’s patient’s families as they face similar challenges.
