The KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation was founded in early 2014 in memory of Abbie Benford, who lost her life from anaphylaxis just eight days before her 16th birthday. I did not have the privilege of knowing Abbie but have gotten to know the wonderful Benford family. They tell us that Abbie seized every opportunity to meet new people and try something new and that she had a spirited demeanor and infectious laugh. I know she is so loved and dearly missed by all.
