For participating in The 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to END ALZ!

Hello family and friends! I am proud to share that I am running the 2024 Asics Falmouth Road Race on Sunday, August 18th to support the Alzheimer's Association! I am running in honor of my father, Joe Walsh, who was diagnosed in 2019. As many of you know, growing up, my dad was an active stay-at-home parent. He was at all the bake sales, and never missed one of my games or track meets. He taught me how to drive and helped me with my math homework. A self-taught skilled cook, he is where I get my love of cooking. While his diagnosis was heartbreaking for me, my feelings around his diagnosis are a testament to the person he is and the father he has been to me. It is an honor to care for him, as he did for me for so many years.

I run to honor and remember all those affected by this disease. I run for the first survivor. Currently there are more than 6 Million Americans living with Alzheimer's and over 11 Million people providing unpaid care for them. This disease will cost the US over $345 Billion in 2024. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. 1 in 3 seniors die from it, two thirds of those living with Alzheimer's are women, and one in five women over 45 will be diagnosed. These facts, and more, are staggering. Please make a donation today to help support local families and advance research for treatments and a cure. The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we need your help to find them. Thank you in advance for your support!
