I am running the Falmouth Road Race for Team End ALZ in memory of my nana, Dorothy Pickette, and my aunt, Lori Silverman, both of whom bravely battled Alzheimer's and who I miss and think about every day.
The Alzheimer's Association is a wonderful organization that raises funds to accelerate global research, drive risk reduction and early detection, and maximize quality care and support for patients living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. So many families, including mine, have experienced the anguish of watching a loved one struggling with Alzheimer's, and every dollar donated helps to support invaluable research efforts that will one day hopefully lead to a cure.
